Garbage in … Garbage out!
There truly is a connection between your health, the health of your skin, and your diet. If you eat “garbage”, it will negatively reflect in you health and the health of your skin. Basic rule of thumb, the deeper the color of the fruit and/or vegetable, the healthier the food.
Diet alone can help fight the signs of aging! Incorporating antioxidants into your diet will help fight free radicals reducing inflammation, disease, and damage. Free radicals found in our body originate from many things such as stress and air pollution. Introduce a variety of fruits and vegetables in your diet to maximize your anti-aging and skin care, complexion efforts.
If you have dry skin, avoid caffeine and excessive alcohol. Add oils to your diet through foods such as nuts, salmon,flax seed, and increase your water intake.
If you have oily skin, avoid hormone filled dairy products and incorporate probiotics, vitamin A, and zinc. Zinc may be found in almonds and shellfish.
If you have inflamed, red skin, avoid excessive alcohol, caffeinated drinks, and spicy foods. Eat foods high in silica such as cucumbers. If you are noticing an increased amount of breakouts, evaluate your coffee intake. Try reducing your coffee intake or switch to tea. Inflammation may also be fought with Melatonin. Incorporate cherries, bananas, tomatoes, and ginger into your diet to help reduce skin inflammation.
Repair damaged skin with Vitamin C and E by eating kiwi and other citris fruits, wheat germ, leafy greens, and broccoli.
Prevent sun damage with resveratrol which may be found in grapes, blue berries, and of course, red wine.
Strengthen hair and nails with Biotin. Biotin can be found in a pill form to be taken daily or you can eat nuts, eggs, oats, peanut butter, and liver.
Increase your Vitamin C intake through citrus fruits, red sweet peppers, broccoli, and potatoes.
Increase your Vitamin A by eating liver, pumpkin, mozzarella cheese and eggs. Include Fish Oil in your daily vitamin regimen.
Increase your Vitamin E by eating more nuts, avocados, and asparagus.
Increase your Selanium by cooking with more garlic and eating more fish, red meat, chicken, eggs, and grains.
