Minimal changes to your eyes … Maximum changes to your appearance!

Your eyes will age in varying ways creating your look to change.    Maybe your eyelashes have thinned or your eyelids have drooped.  Quite possibly, dark circles and crows feet have taken up residence aging your eyes.  Often, hallows and bags will co-exist under your eyes as you age.  From fine lines and wrinkles to heavy bags under the eyes, time takes it toll on our eyes creating a tired, older looking you.  Refresh your look with enhancing the appearance of your eyes.

One sign of youthfulness is having dark, thick, long eyelashes.  As you age, lashes will thin, lighten, and become brittle.  A non-medical solution is to use artificial eyelashes.  A medical solution is to prescribe to Latisse.  Latisse is the only FDA approved lash treatment that stimulates the growth of your lashes resulting in dark, thick, long eyelashes.  In turn, creating a more youthful look by enhancing your natural eye structure.

If your upper eyelids have too much skin or not enough fat, the eyelids may droop.  If your eyebrow droops, most often your eyelid will droop causing saggy or hooded lids.  To help prevent this as you age, wear sunglasses to protect the upper eyelids from sun.   Botox is a non-surgical method to reducing a sagging brow by raising it back to a more youthful, refreshed position.   Other injectables and fat may be used in this area as well to re-inflate the brow area.  Surgically, you may opt to undergo an upper lid blephroplasty.  During this procedure, the excess skin is removed from the eyelid along with the bad fat.  The area is tightened created a refreshed look.

We often attribute dark circles under the eyes and under eye bags to being tired when actually, these circles are caused by pools of blood in those vessels that are close to the skin creating this dark featured and/or by fat that accumulates causing that area to bulge.  Lack of sleep and dehydration can enhance these dark circles.  Use Vitamin K to reduce the dark circles as it helps strengthen the skin and clots the vessels to help reduced the pooling.    Hydroquinone may also be used to lighten the area if the darkness is related to melasma.  If the circles are a result of bulging fat, then you might want to inject a filler or fat into the area to plump the surrounding area reducing the bulging effect.   Fractionated erbuim lasers such as my Sciton system can address the under-eye bags removing some of the underlying tissue and simulating collagen production.   The surgical solution would be to undergo a lower lid blephroplasty (eyelid surgery) where the bulging fat is removed from the body dramatically improving the look of the eye by tightening the skin and removing the puffy area.

We all seem to have crow’s feet that move in as time passes from repetitive squinting, smiling, and other facial movements.  Repeated sun exposure also helps to create these fine lines.  Again, wearing sunglasses is a good way to help prevent or slow down the creation of crow’s feet.  Keep the area hydrated and supple with creams.  Take your vitamins to help the skin remain strong.  Botox is the best way to rid your face of crow’s feet.

Under-eye hallows appear when you do not have enough under-eye fat.  Without the fat, the skin sink in creating a sunken, gaunt, hallow look.  A non-surgical solution would be to inject the area with a filler or better yet, your own body fat!  Both fillers and fat will replenish the lost volume reducing the hollowness creating a youthful, fresh you.  Talk to your physician about if a filler or fat is the best solution for you.
